Robert Hester and Charles DeVane of Elizabethtown were recognized as Outstanding Young Men of America.
The Bladen County Board of Education announced that schools in Bladen would open August 25 with 7300 students.
The state passed a declaration that 18-year-olds would be allowed to vote. The Bladen County Board of Elections urged 18-year-olds in Bladen County to register as soon as possible.
