The Elizabethtown High School Band, under the direction of Ray Haney, was invited to participate in the Six Flags Over Georgia Concert Band Festival.

Seven new Ford Police Cruisers were purchased for the Bladen County Sheriff’s Department. The low bid for the cars was $3,107.29 each. Low bid for the gas was .2980 per gallon.
Everett Byrd of Clarkton was runner-up in the North Carolina Peanut Growers Annual growing contest. First place was won by J.S. Hill of Yates County.
