The Bladen County Health Department is hosting a “Think Pink” Flu Drive Thru this coming Friday, October 23rd, 2015. The drive through will be operating Friday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the Bladen County Health Department, located at 300 Mercer Mill Road in Elizabethtown.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC), recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months old and older as long as they are not allergic to eggs.
Vaccination may reduce flu illnesses, doctors’ visits, and missed work and school, as well as prevent hospitalizations.
At Bladen County Health Department
The health department announced the following information.
Insurances accepted:
• Medcost
• Blue Cross Blue Shield
• United Healthcare
• Cigna
• Medicare
• Medicaid
Cost of the vaccine without one of the insurances mentioned above will be as follows:
• High Dose Vaccine-Ages 65 and older- $60.00
• Intradermal Vaccine-95% Shorter Needle- $47.00
• Flu (Regular) Vaccine- $44.00
• Preservative Free- $49.00
*Payment will be required at the time of service for those with no insurance coverage according to the health department.
