With the threat of inclement weather today and Friday, the high school graduation ceremonies scheduled for tomorrow for East and West Bladen are being relocated to the gym at Elizabethtown Middle School. This location change will provide families with indoor, air-conditioned seating and shelter from inclement weather. Graduation ceremonies will still be held tomorrow, Friday, June 4.

East Bladen will graduate their seniors at 8:00 AM Friday morning. Doors will open at 6:30 AM for East Bladen families.

West Bladen will graduate their seniors at 6:30 PM Friday evening. Doors will open at 5:30 PM for West Bladen families.

Graduates are still permitted six tickets for family members. All guests must have a ticket to enter the gym. Special seating will be available for individuals requiring assistance or who have physical challenges which do not allow them to sit in the bleachers. Although not required, individuals are encouraged to consider wearing a face mask.

As a reminder, pom-poms, banners, balloons, flowers and any other celebratory items will not be allowed inside the gym during the graduation ceremony.

Bladen County Schools released this statment ending with, “We look forward to celebrating East Bladen and West Bladen’s Class of 2021 tomorrow in the gym of Elizabethtown Middle School.”
