The Bladen County Hospital Foundation held an “Appreciation Dinner” Tuesday, August 9, at Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery. The dinner was to honor members who are rotating off of the Board of Directors this year.

Cape Fear Vineyard and Winery provided a lovely dinner and atmosphere for the event. Guest speakers for the evening were, Ashley Dowless, Executive Director; Dr. Roxie Wells, Bladen President; Lee Greene, Foundation Board Chairman; and David Clark, Foundation Board member.

Dowless addressed the board and said, “I can’t thank each of you enough for volunteering your time to serve on this board. I appreciate your willingness to serve and I hope you know how much our hospital values your time and input. Thank you for bringing your passion, intellect, insight and experience to the table.”

Serving on the board takes dedication and willingness to take time out of a busy schedule.

Greene said, “The gentlemen rotating off the board this year are the pillars of our community. They are always willing to help and they are very appreciated.”

Dr. Wells ended the evening by thanking the board members for their service and shared her excitement about her new role at Bladen.

The board members will remain as Honorary Executive Board members.
