Spread the love

Bladen County nurses deserve to be recognized. Today is National Nurses Day. Thank a nurse! We are accepting emails at bladenonline.com@gmail.com with accolades for our area nurses.

If you have a special thank you would like to share, please send us an email. We will publish your letters of graditude on our Lifestyles page.

Today also begins National Nurses Week. National Nurses week is May 6th through, May 12th. The week ends on Florence Nightingale’s birthday. Nightingale, an English nurse, is considered the founder of the nursing profession, due in large part to her work during the Crimean War. The first Nurses Week was celebrated in October of 1954, which was the 100th anniversary of Nightingale’s mission to Crimea. May 6th became the official National Nurses Day in 1982.

Help us celebrate our nurses with letters of thanks on our Lifestyles page and attend the Nurses’ Candle Light Walk at 7:30pm starting at the Farmer’s Market hosted by Cape Fear Valley – Bladen County Hospital.
