ELIZABETHTOWN – Clarkton School of Discovery posted a 2-0 victory over Elizabethtown Tuesday by set scores of 25-2 and 25-11 in the opening round of the Bladen County Middle School Volleyball Tournament
Kynslie Kinlaw delivered 7 straight service points to start the match for the Lady Blue Devils. Teammate Melissa Sandoval-Garcia reeled off 10 consecutive service points, before Nadya Colon served out the set with 6 straight service points.
Two service points from Kynslie Kinlaw sparked Clarkton to a 4-1 lead in the 2nd set. Mariah Ward answered with a service point for the Lady Cougars, and teammate Kimyra McDowell tied the set 7-7 with a service point.
Kynslie Kinlaw reeled off 9 consecutive service points as the Lady Blue Devils opened up a 19-9 lead. Kynslie Kinlaw racked up 21 service points to lead the Clarkton attack. Sandoval-Garcia totaled 10 service points, and Colon finished with 6 service points.
It was the final game for Coach Ursula Wooten’s Lady Cougars.
