Bladen County Recreation Director Grant Pait hopes to be able to re-open Bladen County Park Saturday. The park has been closed since Friday, October 7 due to Hurricane Matthew.
“We’ve got some clean-up work to do Friday to remove some tree limbs and debris,” said Pait. “We hope to open the park Saturday to give people a chance to get out and have something to do.”
Pait has been assisting Bladen County Operations during the relief efforts following the storm. “We have also been storing donations of relief supplies in our King Street Gym,” he said.
The Grand Slam Batting Cage in Bladenboro will remain closed until sometime next week when recreation personnel have a chance to assess any damage and what repairs and clean-up are needed.
