Folks in Bladen County took a few moments at noon to stop and say a prayer. Nine people gathered at the flag pole in front of the Elizabethtown Municipal Building to say a prayer for the nation, it’s leaders, and local leaders.  The National Day of Prayer is organized each year by Clara Adams.

Barbara Knight joined the group and said, “We used to do this at work. I just wanted to come have it with you guys.” Doris Ward from New York said that she felt the nation needs prayer.  Adams began the session with a scripture reading and then the group formed a circle and began to pray.

The prayer lasted about 15 minutes and included prayers for local leaders, county leaders, and state leaders to name a few things.
