Spread the love

By Cara Beth Lewis

Bladen County Public Library branches will conduct outreach programs throughout the upcoming Fall season. The goal of these outreaches is to spark an interest in reading in children and make parents aware of all that the library has to offer for their child. The library is asking the community for assistance, as they wish to collect individually pre-wrapped candy to distribute to children of the community at the upcoming events.

Each library location will host Halloween parties, set up at Beast Fest in Bladenboro, and there are more events that are still in the works. At these events, children will be given a goodie bag containing candy and a free book.

Bladen County Library in Elizabethtown, as well as the branches in Clarkton and Bladenboro, have placed boxes for the donation of candy inside their entrances from now through October 28th.

Bladen County Library Director Sheila Nance stated, “The library appreciates any and all assistance in providing sweet treats to bring a smile to the faces of all the young and upcoming readers of Bladen County.”
