All branches of the Bladen County Public Library will be accepting nonperishable food items in exchange for library fines from Monday, June 26, through Friday, June 30.

All branches of the library will be accepting unopened, non-damaged, and unexpired boxed meals, canned soup, canned meat, canned fruit, canned vegetables, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, etc. Each single food item will count as $1 off existing overdue fines, and there will be a limit of 50 food items per account. This will not apply for lost items, copies, or any other library fees other than library overdue (late) fines.

All items collected will be donated to the Bladen Crisis Center. If anyone is interested in donating, even if they don’t have any overdue fees, they are welcome to drop off items at any of the three library branches during this time.
