The annual Bladen County Relay for Life Survivors Gala will take place on Sunday, March 24th, at the Cape Fear Farmers Market in Elizabethtown at 4 p.m. The theme for this year’s event is Super Heroes of Hope. The event is open to cancer survivors and their caregivers.

Event Chairwoman Mary Williams said the speaker for this year’s Survivor’s Gala will be the Rev. Lorraine Jackson of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. She is a 32-year cancer survivor. All cancer survivors and their caregivers are encouraged to attend this event.

The annual Cancer Survivor’s Gala will include a meal and the Rev. Jackson will be the keynote speaker. Live entertainment will be provided by the Gospel Angels of Fairmont.

“The gala is sponsored by the American Cancer Society for all cancer survivors. We’d like for their care givers to attend too,” said Williams

There will be a registration table available when you arrive at the event. Those who have received an invitation for the Cancer Survivors Gala need to RSVP by Wednesday, March 20th, said Williams.

The annual Bladen County Relay for Life event is planned for Saturday, April 27th, from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Middle School athletic field. The deadline for sponsorship logos, T-shirts, team names, and Rosebush orders is Friday, March 29th, 2019. Teams and individuals are encouraged to enter their orders quickly.

Williams also said there are sponsorship opportunities this year for Bladen County businesses. Sponsorships range from $100 to $5,000. For more information about sponsorships, contact Williams at 910-991-6325.
