Spread the love

Cancer has touched many lives and many families in Bladen County. Bladen County Relay for Life will take place from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. today (Friday, May 4) at the Elizabethtown Middle School track.

There are 22 teams entered in the event. The fundraising goal for this year’s event is to raise $78,000 to help with cancer research. As of 11 a.m. Friday, they had raised $48,610 of that goal.

Festivities will include a luminary service as well as a survivor’s lap and a care giver’s lap. Everyone is encouraged to come out and cheer on the cancer survivors and their care givers as they make their lap around the track. Live entertainment is also planned.

There will be plenty of food and drinks available for purchase. Everyone is encouraged to bring your family and a lawn chair and come out and support Bladen County Relay for Life.
