This Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club has a team raising funds for Bladen County Relay for Life. The team is raising money for cancer research.

Although the Relay for Life event was not held in Bladen County this month, the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club Relay For Life Team is offering a chance to win a new Snapper riding lawn mower. The mower was donated by Thompson’s Small Engine Repair for the club’s fundraising efforts.

Tickets are for sale for $5 per ticket and are available until tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. at Thompsons Small Engine Repair in Elizabethtown on S. Poplar Street. The drawing will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.

Mr. Wade Kinlaw from White Oak was the winning ticket holder last year.

The Elizabethtown Kiwanis would like to thank everyone who purchased a ticket for this drawing.

The Kiwanis Club offers scholarships each year to high school seniors. The club sponsors the Key Club at East Bladen High School and West Bladen High Schools. Also, the club sponsors the Boy Scout Troop 622 of Dublin and Terrific Kids at several county primary schools.

If you are interested in joining Kiwanis, please reach out to Dr. Lisa Bryan, President of the local club, at kiwanisbladen@gmail.com.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, the club was meeting at Cindy’s the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The club may start meeting at Cindy’s again in August or September
