The North Carolina Department of Transportation released an update on Bladen County Road closings on Thursday, May 13, 2021.
According to Faye Boyne with NCDOT following are the road closings.
CLOSED:
NC53 will be closed starting May 17, 2021 through May 28, 2021. The detour will be from NC53 South to SR1325 (Gum Springs Road) West to NC 242 South to SR1324 East (Dowd Dairy Road) back to NC53.
US Highway 701N
The both lanes of the North Bound US Highway 701 over the Cape Fear River is closed. Traffic will be rerouted to the Southbound lanes. The closure has a WIDE LOAD TRAFFIC RESTRICTION.
Elwell Ferry
Elwell Ferry is closed.
