Bridge replacement, debris removal and high water all are contributing factors for roads being closed in Bladen County. Roads in Elizabethtown, Kelly, Council and White Oak are affected from closings.
Following is the list of closings according to Faye M. Boyne, Administrative Specialist I, Division of Highways with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
CLOSINGS:
NC53 (Near White Oak)
NC53 W is closed toward White Oak for a bridge replacement at Ellis Creek. A signed detour is in place. This will remain closed for several weeks.

Lane shift for shoulder closure and to move southbound traffic to northbound bridge for the purpose of debris removal from under the southbound Cape Fear River bridge. 11′ lane restriction is in place in this section. Contractor to remove debris.
