The North Carolina Department of Transportation has issued an updated listing of road openings and closings in Bladen County, per Kenneth Clark.
OPENINGS:
Sweet Home Church Road is now open.
CLOSINGS:
Murray Haywood Road
Murray Haywood Road remains closed at a location 1.08 miles east of NC 242. The road should open late tomorrow afternoon (Thursday, August 17th).
UPCOMING CLOSINGS:
Coley Road
Beginning Monday, August 21, Coley Road will close in order to replace the bridge over Hammonds Creek. The bridge replacement project will take 3-4 months. A signed detour will be in effect to use Airport Road to White Plains Church Road to Vause Road to Rosindale Road.
Richardson Street
Beginning Monday, August 21, NC DOT plans to close Richardson Street in Elizabethtown just west of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in order to upsize crossline pipes. The road will remain closed through the end of next week. To access homes / subdivisions off of Richardson Street, you will need to enter from the Peanut Road end of the road.
