A staff report
Bladen County Schools are excited to celebrate Red Ribbon Week from October 28 to November 1, joining schools across the nation in promoting a drug-free lifestyle. This year’s theme, “Life Is a Movie, Film Drug Free,” encourages students to envision a life free of drugs, focusing on making safe and responsible choices.
Each day of Red Ribbon Week, students and staff at Bladen County Schools will participate in themed activities to raise awareness about drug prevention:
• Monday, October 28: Don’t Let Drugs Drive You Crazy – Students will show their commitment to staying drug-free by wearing crazy hair and socks.
• Tuesday, October 29: Be On A Drug-Free Team – Students will display their team spirit by wearing their favorite team gear.
• Wednesday, October 30: Put A Cap On Drugs – To stand against drug use, students are encouraged to wear their favorite hats.
• Thursday, October 31: Drugs Aren’t In Our Character – In celebration of literature and film, students will dress up as their favorite book or movie characters.
• Friday, November 1: “RED”Y To Say NO To Drugs – The week concludes with students dressing in red from head to toe to show their united stance against drugs.
The week-long celebration not only aims to educate students on the dangers of drug use but also to inspire them to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. Bladen County Schools encourages students, staff, and the entire community to support this initiative, sharing the message with pride on social media using the hashtags #wearebcs, #teambladen, and #OneTeamOneGoal.
