Bladen County Schools has undergone some administrative changes in the last year. A new superintendent, Dr. Jason Atkinson, replacing previous Dr. Robert Taylor, new principals, new assistant principals, and relocated principals and assistant principals. With all of these changes, BladenOnline decided to provide our readers with an updated list of administrators.

Dr. Jason Atkinson provided the following information:

Bladen Early College – Haley Cheshire, Principal
Bladen Lakes Primary – Jason Folsom, Principal
Bladenboro Middle School – Vanessa Ruffin, Principal; Chrystal McColskey, Assistant Principal
Bladenboro Primary School – Stephanie Norris, Principal; Jennifer Marlowe, Assistant Principal
Clarkton School of Discovery – Heather Thompson, Principal; John Collins, Assistant Principal
Dublin Primary School – Marc Edge, Principal
East Arcadia School – Ursula Wooten, Principal
East Bladen High School – Deborah Guyton, Interim Principal; Glenda Matthis, Assistant Principal
Elizabethtown Middle School – Jamaal Dunham, Principal; Renee Steele, Assistant Principal
Elizabethtown Primary School – Priscilla Brayboy, Principal; Joshua Parker, Assistant Principal
Plain View Primary School – Joyce Spencer, Principal
Tar Heel Middle School – Teresa Coleman, Principal; Brendan McCarthy, Assistant Principal
West Bladen High School – Peggy Hester, Principal; David Wimert, Assistant Principal

Dr. Atkinson stated, “The only principal vacancy that we currently have is at East Bladen. The position is posted and we are currently accepting applications. Beginning next Monday, Mrs. Deborah Guyton will begin serving as the interim principal at East Bladen.”

Bladen County Schools currently has 40 job vacancies, according to the list provided on BCS’s website (view). The jobs available range from high school principal, to maintenance director, to teachers and assistant teachers, custodians, and more.
