In anticipation of Tropical Storm Isaias, Bladen County will open the following shelters Monday at 7 p.m., according to Nathan Dowless, Bladen County Emergency Services Director.
The shelter locations are as follows.
• East Bladen High School, 5600 NC-87 E, Elizabethtown, NC 28337
• Bladenboro Middle School, 910 S Main St, Bladenboro, NC 28320
Due to COVID-19, congregate sheltering may not be your best option and shelters should be used only as a last resort. Noted below are important factors to consider:
• No meal will be served Monday, August 3, 2020
• Individuals will be screened for COVID-19 prior to entry and periodically during shelter operations.
• NO cots will be provided, you are encouraged to bring your own bedding. (ex. sleeping bags, blankets, pillow)
• Face coverings will be required at ALL times during the stay.
• Remember to pack a hurricane preparedness kit with mask, hand sanitizers, medications and personal hygiene items.
