The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the Tar Heel Dollar General robbery. Chief Deputy Larry Guyton said the incident happened just prior to the store’s closing on Saturday.  Two clerks were working in the store at the time of the incident but no one was injured.

According to Guyton, the suspect walked into the store at about 10 p.m. and walked around but did not make any purchases. The suspect then approached the clerk and produced a gun and left with a small amount of money.

“A nearby resident saw a black male running down Main Street towards 2nd Street. He said the suspect got into a small black Nissan with chrome rims,” said Guyton. The witness was unable to give investigators a direction of travel or tag number.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking if you have any information regarding this incident or the identity suspect, call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960.
