Judith Hyder MISSING

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s help to locate a missing person.

Judith Deavers Hyder, 53, of 201 Oliver Lane, near Garland, was reported missing on Wednesday, Dec. 9, by her roommate.  She was last seen on Tuesday at 11 a.m. when she was reportedly leaving to travel to Broadway, according to Bladen County Sheriff Jim McVicker.

“At the time she was last seen, she told her roommate that she was going to Broadway, NC. Hyder was last known to be driving her vehicle, a Pontiac G6. The vehicle was located on December 10 near the residence,” said McVicker.

The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and Bladen County Emergency Management crews searched the woods near the residence but failed to locate Hyder, said McVicker.

There was no clothing description available nor a direction or mode travel.

“She was known to be barefooted,” said McVicker.

Hyder is described as 5 ft. 5 inches tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with short dark hair.

McVicker said Hyder is a diabetic and suffers from depression and has been without her medication for several days.
