Bladen County, NC- The Bladen County Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce the addition of five dedicated individuals to their ranks. Joseph Butler and Marshal Beard are joining as seasoned Patrol Deputies, while Katelynn Denise Edwards, Eric Davis Jr., and Sarah Kathryn Meares are stepping in as Detention Center Officers. The welcoming was marked by a touching display of support from both family members and colleagues, who took time out of their bustling schedules to extend their well-wishes.

McVicker, expressed his gratitude to the newly joined staff members and all those who participated in the event. “We extend a warm welcome to Joseph Butler, Marshal Beard, Katelynn Denise Edwards, Eric Davis Jr., and Sarah Kathryn Meares. Their commitment to serving and protecting our community is truly commendable,” he stated.

The new Patrol Deputies, Butler and Beard, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to their roles, having demonstrated their dedication to maintaining public safety in various capacities. Their addition is expected to further strengthen the Sheriff’s Office’s ability to respond effectively to a wide range of situations.

Joining them are Detention Center Officers Edwards, Davis Jr., and Meares, who are poised to contribute to the seamless operation of the Detention Center facility. Their role is crucial in ensuring the welfare and security of inmates while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and care.

The warm reception provided by the Sheriff’s Office at the Bladen County Law Enforcement Center was a testament to the close-knit bond that exists within the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office family. Sheriff McVicker expressed his gratitude, saying, “We appreciate the tremendous support shown by family members and our dedicated staff. It is this sense of unity that allows us to fulfill our duty of safeguarding the residents and visitors of Bladen County.”

As these new team members embark on their journey of service, the Sheriff’s Office family requests the community’s continued support and prayers. “We ask that you keep the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office in your thoughts and prayers as we diligently work to ensure the safety of our community. May we all be blessed with the strength and guidance needed to carry out our responsibilities,” Sheriff McVicker concluded.

The new law enforcement members were led in an oath of office by Bladen County Clerk of Superior Court, Cristin Hursey. The Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of law enforcement and public safety. With these new additions, the agency is better equipped than ever to fulfill its vital role in safeguarding the well-being of Bladen County’s residents and visitors.
