2014 Special OlympicsVolunteers are the heart beat of the Special Olympics, and the volunteers help make the event possible. On Friday, April 17th the Bladen County Special Olympics will be held at the Elizabethtown Middle School football field. The spring games will be a great event with a lot of fun plan. Volunteers are still needed.

A parade will kick the event off at 9:45 am and the torch will be lit at 10 am to officially start the games. Ms. Gaye Davis and the West Bladen Dream Team will lead the games for the event. Bladenboro Middle School Beta Club will be running Olympic Town. Miss Bladenboro Lindsey Herring will be singing with some of the athletes, along with students from East Bladen High School, and West Bladen High School students will be signing the songs.  There also will be face painting, food donated by Burger King, water donated by First Bank, and a DJ with music after the closing ceremony.

Volunteers are needed to assist the athletes, set up tents, assist with games and clean up after ceremony. Tents are also needed for the event. If you would like to assist with this event you may contact, Elaine McIntyre -910-549-8876, emcintyre@bladen.k12.nc.us.
