The Bladen County Substance Misuse Task Force has been committed to making a positive difference for many years. The task force members consist of elected officials, law enforcement, mental health providers, officials from the County of Bladen, Bladen Community College officials, health care professionals, Bladen County Schools, faith-based leaders, parents, concerned citizens, and those in recovery.

Dr. Cathy Gantz, the task force director, announced the next task force meeting will be today, Tuesday, June 15th at 6:30 pm, at Bladen Community College, in building 9.

At the last meeting, members shared a plethora of ideas in response to four questions that will assist in developing a strategic plan for the task force. At the last meeting members discussed ideas to four questions.

The questions asked during the round table discussion were as follows:

“What else can we do as a task force to prevent substance misuse in our community?”

“How can we decrease the stigma that comes along with substance misuse?”

“What can parents do to prevent substance misuse with their children?”

“What would have prevented you or someone you know from substance misuse?” (List as many things as possible)

View the ideas and answered the task force members came up with in our previous article, “Bladen County Substance Misuse Task Force Works for SolutionsBladen County Substance Misuse Task Force Works for Solutions.”

Education, support services, and communication are some of the top general responses to the questions.

The public is invited and encouraged to attend the task force. Below is the agenda for today’s meeting.
