Bladen County’s third grade students spent Wednesday and Thursday at the Bladen County Park learning about agriculture during the Age ‘Em Up Days events. All of Bladen County’s public schools, Emerau:Bladen Charter School, and Elizabethtown Christian Academy, were invited to attend and take part.

The East Bladen and West Bladen High School FFA students joined Bladen County Cooperative Extension staff and Agricultural Agents by offering discussions and demonstrations about an array of topics including soil sampling, livestock, poultry, and bee keeping.

Sheep were baaing and a cow bellowed as students asked questions about their care and size they will reach when grown. The students were most fascinated by the honey bees.
