Bladen County To Play Amelia, Virginia In DYB World Series

ANDERSON, SC — It will be battle between North Carolina and Virginia teams on Tuesday in the Dixie Youth Baseball Majors Division 2 World Series. A berth in the championship game will be on the line.

Bladen County is scheduled to play Amelia, Virginia at approximately 12:15 p.m. The game follows Tuesday opener scheduled for 10 a.m. between West Duplin, North Carolina and Lunenburg, Virginia.

Amelia, Virginia is the lone undefeated team in the nine-team double elimination tournament. Amelia defeated Lunenburg 5-4 on Tuesday. West Duplin beat host Honea Path 8-2. Bladen County had a bye.

The championship game is scheduled Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with another game, if needed, set for 3:30 p.m.

Bladen County opened the tournament Friday with a 5-0 win against the Alabama state runners-up, then lost to Lunenburg 2-1 in seven innings Saturday. Bladen County toppled the Alabama state champion 13-3 Monday, then had a bye Tuesday.

Members of the Bladen County All-Star State Champs are: Chase Bryan, Luke Bryant, Gauge King, Ashton Davis, Corben Chadwick, Sawyer King, Cole Brisson, Drake Gause, Andrew Wren, Devan Stanley, and Gavin Brisson. Coaches are Keith Wren, Jason Bryant and Jonathan McMillan.
