This Saturday will have a total of 7 different events for residents to go enjoy!

The first one on the list is Carver’s Creek Community May Day Celebration to be held on Saturday, May 4th! The event will have food and fun activities at the Baltimore Center. The parade will begin at 10 a.m. and if you have any questions about the event you can contact Jean Lloyd at 910-669-2705. The Baltimore Center is located on 2104 S. Elwell Ferry Road Council, NC.

The Lower Bladen Columbus Historical Society announced in April the upcoming  Cape Fear River Shed Festival on May 4th, however the festival has been canceled according to Earnestine Keaton.

No answer for the reason of the canceled event was given. However, there are plenty of other activities to enjoy in Bladen and the surrounding areas.

The White Oak Fire Department will be having a All You Can Eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Any donations are appreciated and guests are able to come dine in or take the food with them.

A Barbecue Fundraiser will be held at the Bladenboro Historical Building for Noah Deaver. The barbecue will begin at 4 p.m. and will last until 7 p.m. Each plate will cost $7 and will include baked goods for purchase.

The Annual Spring Plant Sale by Bladen County Extension Master Gardeners will be held at the Cape Fear Farmers Market located in Elizabethtown. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and there will be a variety of plants to choose from!

The Annual Kids Appreciation Day event will be held at the Elizabethtown Town Hall by the Elizabethtown Police Department. The event will include bounce houses, basketball shooting contest, home run derby, and more! It will begin at 10 a.m. and will end at 2 p.m.

A Fundraiser Bingo will be at the White Lake Water Rescue Building hosted by the Secret Sisters. The doors will be open at 5 p.m. while the game starts at 6 p.m. Cash only and $10 will be able to play all night.

Another May Day Festival will be held at James L. Newkirk Park in Sampson County. It will include games, face painting, classic cars, motorcycles club, food, public safety, health exams, and “The Voices” Best Choir Competition
