These weekend the New Hope Missionary Church and The Spiritual Educational Outreach Ministries in Wilmington will be celebrating Women’s Day. The celebration will begin at 11 a.m. and the guest speaker for the event will be Rev. Gabrilla Ann Garrett who is the pastor at Spiritual Educational Outreach Ministries.

Also on May 15th, Lower Cape Fear Hospice will host a free educational event titled “Addiction vs. Pain Management: What You Need to Know about the Opioid Crisis” in Elizabethtown.

Featuring presentations by Kincy Barrow, Southeastern Carolina Crossroads Executive Director, and Dr. Kelly Erola, Lower Cape Fear Hospice’s (LCFH’s) Chief Medical Officer, the free event will be held Wednesday, May 15, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 2409 Peanut Plant Road in Elizabethtown.

The annual White Lake Water Festival is scheduled to take place. The event will kick off with a Classic Car Cruise-In and concert on Friday and events will take place all day on Saturday beginning with the annual parade at 11 a.m. There will be vendors in the Goldston’s Beach and live entertainment.
