ELIZABETHTOWN – Omar Powell pitched a complete game 6-hitter and struck out 7 to lead the Rock Hounds to a 17-11 Dixie Boys Baseball victory over the Braves in a slugfest Thursday night at County Park.

Cole Brisson and Chase Bryan were both hit by pitches in the Braves’ 1st inning. Ashton Bryan reached base on an error, and Brooks Carroll and Devan Stanley yanked singles to left field. Brisson, Chase Bryan and Ashton Bryan scored runs to put the Braves up 3-0.

The Rock Hounds rallied in the bottom of the inning. Omar Powell and Fox Sutton drew walks, and Chandler Wall was hit by a pitch. Delton Murdock reached base on an error, and Cayden Morton laced a single to right-center field. Powell, Sutton, Wall, Murdock and Morton all scored to vault the Hounds in front 5-3.

Gavin Brisson reached base on an error in the Braves’ 2nd inning and scored to slice the lead to 5-4.

The Rock Hounds rang up 7 runs in the home 2nd to open up a 12-4 lead. Khalil Moore smashed a double to left-center field, Gregory O’Neal, Jr. reached base on a fielder’s choice and Tyre Owens was hit by a pitch. Omar Powell sliced a single to left-center field. Wall was hit by a pitch, Sutton walked, and Murdock swatted a single to left. Moore, O’Neal, Owens, Powell, Wall, Sutton and Murdock all scored.

Back came the Braves with 5 runs in the 3rd inning to trim the margin to 12-9. Cole Brisson and Carroll drew walks, Chase Bryan and Ashton Bryan raked singles, and Andrew Wren reached base on an error. All of them scored in the inning.

Braiden Dixon led off the Rock Hound 3rd with a single and came around to score to pad the lead to 13-9.

Omar Powell reached base on an error in the Rock Hound 4th inning. Wall blasted a triple that scored Powell, and Sutton walloped a 2-run home run that scored Wall ahead of him. Morton and Dixon sandwiched singles around a walk to Trey Wilson, and Morton scored to stretch the Rock Hound lead to 17-9.

Josh Strickland smacked a single to start the Braves’ 5th inning, and Luke Bryant hammered a 2-run home run to whittle the final margin to 17-11.

Morton and Dixon both batted 2-for-3 to lead the Rock Hound hitters. Sutton slugged the 2-run homer and scored 3 runs. Wall tripled and scored 3 runs. Moore doubled, and Omar Powell and Murdock added singles. Omar Powell scored 3 runs. Murdock and Morton scored 2 runs each. Moore, O’Neal and Owens scored 1 run each.

Bryant drilled the 2-run homer to lead the Braves’ attack. Chase Bryan, Ashton Bryan, Carroll, Stanley and Strickland connected for 1 hit each. Cole Brisson, Chase Bryan, and Ashton Bryan scored 2 runs each. Wren, Carroll, Strickland and Gavin Brisson scored 1 run each.

Bryant and Cole Brisson shared the pitching duties for the Braves and teamed up to strike out 5 batters but were plagued by 5 walks, 4 hit batters and 2 errors.
