The Bladen County Board of Elections will meet three more times to discuss absentee ballots prior to the Nov. 3 municipal election, according to chairman Bobby Ludlum.

The board, which held its first meeting about absentee ballots Oct. 13, is scheduled to meet Oct. 20 and Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. at the board’s offices in Elizabethtown. A final meeting is scheduled Nov. 2 at 5 p.m..

The board is scheduled to meet Nov. 3 — election day — at 8:30 a.m., then count absentee ballots at 2 p.m., and convene at 6 p.m. to await results and begin tabulations after the polls close at 7:30 p.m.

The board has scheduled a meeting regarding provisional ballots on Nov. 6 at 4 p.m., then, at 5 p.m., will declare the deadline for civilian absentee ballots that were postmarked by election day.

The county canvass of municipal results is scheduled Nov. 10 at 11 a.m..

One-stop voting begins Thursday at the Bladen County Public Library in Elizabethtown. One-stop voting is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. weekdays beginning Thursday, Oct. 22 through Friday, Oct. 30. There also will be voting Saturday, Oct. 31 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Voters in Bladenboro, Clarkton, Elizabethtown, and White Lake will select mayors and board members.

Dublin, Tar Heel and East Arcadia will not be participating in the one stop or mail absentee voting because they opted out by a resolution made by the town.
