Due to current forecast models of Hurricane Matthew, county officials have made the decision to not open shelters at this time.
Shelter staff are to remain in standby position in the event that they are needed post storm. Residents are encouraged to still be cautious as tropical storm weather conditions are expected. Please remain aware and have emergency preparation kits on hand.
Officials will continue to monitor the storm and update the public.
The Bladen County Emergency Operations Center will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 8. In an effort to decrease call volume traffic to the 911 Center, please contact Bladen County EOC at 910-862-2780 with any information on downed power lines, trees, or flooded roadways.
