One family living just off N.C. 210 had to be rescued from their home after rising flood waters from South River surrounded their residence.
Bladen County Water Rescue personnel and the Hickory Grove Volunteer Fire Department were able to retrieve the residents and their pets and bring them to dry ground.
Rescue personnel have been busy responding to many calls due to the storm. People are being asked to stay off the roads and do not travel unless necessary.
