In Monday’s opening round games in the Bladen Five Middle School Conference Tournament at Bladenboro, the higher seeded team won all 3 games.

Khadijah Jones pumped in 18 points to lead No. 2 Clarkton School of Discovery’s girls to a 25-24 victory over No. 3 Elizabethtown. Patience Ward led the Lady Cougar scoring with 10 points. Clarkton advances to Thursday’s 5 p.m. girls championship game against Bladenboro.

Tyre Boykin fired in 21 points to lead No. 4 Tar Heel’s Boys to a 57-29 victory over No. 5 East Arcadia. Teammate Shemaiah Leak tossed in 13 points, and Kendall Johnson added 12. Kasey Price poured in 17 points for East Arcadia. Tar Heel advances to play No. 1 Elizabethtown today at 5:15.

Kasee Singletary racked up 21 points to lead No. 1 Bladenboro’s girls to a 35-18 victory over No. 4 Tar Heel. Lexi Corrothers threw in 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs who advance to Thursday’s championship game. More details on all 3 of these games coming Tuesday.
