Several groups in Bladen County are collecting donations for western North Carolina communities that have been damaged by flooding and winds from Hurricane Helene.

TAR HEEL BAPTIST CHURCH
Water, baby items, and non-perishable canned food. Fernando Arrufat and Michael Butler will be taking a load of items on Wednesday. Anyone who would like to donate can bring items to Tar Heel Baptist Church on Tuesday between 3-6 p.m.
WHITE LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT
The department has been in contact with fire chiefs and fire departments in Western NC that assisted in Bladen County during hurricanes Matthew and Florence. Items can be dropped off at the White Lake Fire Department.

Sports drinks (powered packets), baby wipes, diapers (children and adult), baby formula, non-perishable foods, bug spray, manual can openers, sunscreen, cleaning supplies, plastic utensils, sheeting/tarps, trash bags (gallon or contractor), toothbrushes, toothpaste, toiletries/sanitation items, hand sanitizer, feminime hygiene products, socks (unopened), hydration packs (powered form)
Unaccepted items
Used clothes, hazardous materials, most chemicals, flammable items.
CLARKTON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
205 Peach Street, Clarkton
Drinking water, non-perishable food and chainsaws.
“We are asking you to search deep in your own souls when you feel the hesitation not to help,” the department wrote on Facebook. “A lot of the people from that area have been to Bladen and surrounding counties in recent past as well as years past to help us in our times of need.”
