Christie Nye Gower, a native of Elizabethtown, was named 2021-22 Teacher of the Year at Brier Creek Elementary School in Thomasville.
Mrs. Gower was named Teacher of the Year twice while teaching at Eaton Elementary School in Wilmigton. Mrs. Gower has been an elementary school teacher for over 25 years. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norgie Hester of Elizabethtown and the wife of Todd Gower.
