Stephen Hester and Chris Ivey with Bladen County EMS are both certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians, trained to inspect and educate caregivers on how to safely install car seats. Hester and Ivey attended the training on behalf of Bladen County Health Department in an effort to promote child safety and foster community agency partnerships. The certification is recognized nationally and is a program of Safe Kids Worldwide requiring four days of classroom instruction, tests, skills assessments, and a safety seat checkup event.
Safe Kids Coordinator, Berkleigh Pridgen, would like to thank both individuals as well as Bladen County EMS Director, David Howell, for their willingness to partner and better serve our community in keeping children safe.
Techs are available for seat inspection or installations by appointment only. Contact Berkleigh at 910-872-6252 to schedule.
