Bladen County will not be split into two Congressional districts following a ruling earlier this week by a three-judge panel in Wake County that approved redistricting plans for the 2020 election.
All of Bladen County will be part of District 7, which includes Johnston, Sampson, Pender, Columbus, Brunswick and New Hanover counties. David Rouzer, a Republican, represents District 7 in the U.S. House.
Bladen County had been split between District 7 and District 9 under the previous electoral maps.
District 9 is represented by Republican Dan Bishop, who won the seat in a special election over Dan McCready following voter fraud allegations in the collection of absentee ballots in Bladen County during the November 2018 election.
