Hadley Dove pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 10 batters to lead the Force to a 15-4 victory over the Thunder in Bladen Recreation 11-12 Softball action Wednesday night.

The Force jumped in front with a 6-run 1st inning. Chloe Merritt and Dove belted singles, and Bristol Allen ripped a double that scored Merritt, Carrie Jones smashed a double that plated Allen, and Isabella Beard hammed a double that brought home Jones. Abigail Dew knocked in Beard with a single, and teammate Kynzlee Wood walked and scored.

Laney Roberson cracked a 1-out single in the Force 2nd inning, and Dove, Beard and Harmony Richardson belted singles that scored Roberson, Dove and Beard scored as the lead grew to 9-0.

The Thunder answered with 4 runs in the home half of the second. Lydia Harris and Everlee Nance drew walks, before pitcher Alivia McMillian pounded a single to right that scored Harris. An error scored Nance and McMillian, and teammate Shyane Mason walked and scored the final Thunder run.

Uriah Wright and Roberson swatted singles in the Force 3rd inning and both of them scored to grow the margin to 11-4.

Beard led off the Force 5th inning with a single and raced home when Dew walloped a 2-run home run. Richardson, Camryn Wood and Wright laced singles, and Richardson and Camryn Wood both scored to pad the lead to 15-4.

Beard batted 3-for-3 with a double and 3 runs scored for the Force. Dove also finished 3-for-3 with 2 runs scored. Dew slugged the 2-run homer and was 2-for-3 at the plate. Allen batted 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Roberson finished 2-for-3 with 2 runs scored, and Wright and Richardson both batted 2-for-3 and scored runs. Jones doubled and scored a run, and Merritt and Camryn Wood both singled and scored 1 run each.

McMillian’s run-scoring single accounted for the only Thunder hit. Harris, McMillian, Nance and Mason scored 1 run each.
