The Bandits pounded out 12 hits and defeated the Riptide 10-5 Thursday night in Bladen Recreation 8-10 softball action.

Pitcher Laikyn Rogerson cracked a single and scored the 1st Bandit run in the 1st inning. Keri Faye Burgess and Aubree Smith started the Bandits 2nd inning with hits, and Hailii Andrews knocked them in with a double to center field. Andrews later scored to push the lead to 4-0.

Tinsley Allen was hit by a pitch and came around to score the 1st Riptide run in the 2nd inning.

The Bandits answered with 4 runs in the 3rd inning to open up an 8-1 lead. Audrie Andrews and Anna Claire Walters belted singles, before Caity McLaurin smashed a home run to left-center field that scored Andrews and Walters. Burgess hammered a double and scored the other Bandit run.

Kenadie Pusey, Jamison Raynor laced singles to start the Riptide 3rd inning, and Mollie Sasser poked a single to right field. All 3 of them scored to trim the margin to 8-4.

Hailii Andrews singled and scored a Bandit run in the 4th inning, and Audrie Andrews smacked a single in the 5th inning and scored on Walters single. Pusey singled and scored the final Riptide run in the 5th inning.

McLaurin walloped a home run and a triple and finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and 4 runs batted in for the Bandits. Teammate Hailii Andrews batted a perfect 2-for-2 with a double, 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored. Burgess and Audrie Andrews both batted 2-for-3 and both scored 2 runs. Walters finished 2-for-3 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Smith and Rogerson added 1 hit and scored 1 run each.

Sasser batted 3-for-3 with a run scored for the Riptide, and Pusey finished 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 runs scored. Raynor and Adison Overgaard connected for 1 hit each, and Allen and Raynor scored runs.

Sasser struck out 8 batters for the Riptide, and Rogerson was credited with 4 strikeouts for the Bandits.
