Anna Claire Walters’ hammered a double to left field that keyed a 3-run 4th inning rally and propelled the Bandits to a 6-4 victory over the Riptide in Bladen Recreation 8-10 Softball action.

The Riptide carried a 4-3 lead into the home half of the 4th, when Keri Faye Burgess lined a single down the right field line. Walters knocked her in with a double to left field and scored the go-ahead run when the throw back to 2nd base skipped into right field. Maelee Grace Norris was hit by a pitch and came around to score another run for a 6-4 Bandits lead.

The Riptide had scored 2 runs in the top of the 4th to go up 4-3. Mollie Sasser was hit by a pitch, and Tinsley Allen belted a single that scored Sasser. Allen dashed home on Jamison Raynor’s fielder’s choice.

Kenadie Pusey was hit by pitch to start the game and scored the 1st Riptide run. Laikyn Rogerson, Burgess and Caity McLaurin connected for singles in the Bandits 1st inning with Rogerson scoring the tying run.

Allen, Ruby Liggitt and Hyliegh Brackett smacked singles in the Riptide 2nd inning, and Allen scored. In the home 2nd, Hailii Andrews beat out an infield hit, and Aubree Smith was hit by a pitch. Both Andrews and Smith scored for a 3-2 Bandits lead.

Allen batted 2-for-2 and scored twice for the Riptide. Liggitt and Brackett added singles, and Sasser and Pusey scored runs. Sasser pitched 4 innings and struck out 4 batters.

Burgess batted 2-for-2 and scored a run for the Bandits. Walters slugged the run-scoring double and scored a run. Rogerson, Andrews and McLaurin connected for 1 hit each. Rogerson, Norris, Smith and Andrews scored 1 run each. Rogerson pitched 3 innings and struck out one. McLaurin pitched the other inning for the Bandits.
