Maycee Kinlaw batted 2-for-2, scored twice and struck out 16 batters to lead the Rockets to a 4-0 victory over the Heat Tuesday in Bladen Recreation 8-10 Softball action.
Adyson Carroll slammed a double down the left field line in the Rockets 1st inning and raced home on Maycee Kinlaw’s infield hit. Kinlaw later circled the bases to put the Rockets up 2-0.
Abbey Nance belted a single to lead off the Rocket 2nd inning and came around to score and push the lead to 3-0. Maycee Kinlaw smacked a hit off of an infielder in the 4th inning and sprinted around the bases when the ball ricocheted into right field.
Avianna Whittington was hit by a pitch and reached 3rd base in the Heat 1st inning. In the 5th inning, Avianna Whittington smashed a single and reached 3rd base again. Kynslie Kinlaw was hit by a pitch and reached 2nd base, but the two runners were left on base.
Kaylee Fisher pitched the first 4 innings for the Heat and struck out 6 batters. Avianna Whittington relieved and worked 2 scoreless innings while striking out one.
