Maycee Kinlaw struck out 16 batters and walloped a 2-run home run to provide a pair of insurance runs in the final inning as the Rockets outlasted the Bandits 6-3 Tuesday night in Bladen Recreation 8-10 softball action.

The Rockets carried a 4-3 lead into the 6th inning, but Carley Rhodes smacked a single, and Kinlaw crushed her homer to the fence in left-center field.

Adyson Carroll and Kinlaw belted 1st inning singles for the Rockets, and both of them scored. Teammate Ava Duncan cracked a single and scored in the Rockets 2nd inning to pad the lead to 3-0.

Audrie Andrews and Riley Dowless laced singles in the Bandits 3rd inning, and Andrews raced home with the first Bandit run.

Kinlaw delivered a 1-out hit in the Rockets 4th inning and scored when Abbey Nance beat out a 2-out infield hit to push the lead to 4-1.

Laikyn Rogerson beat out an infield hit in the Bandits half of the fourth, and Maelee Grace smashed a single. Both of them scored to rally the Bandits to within 4-3.

Kinlaw batted 3-for-3 with the home run and 3 runs scored to lead the Rocket hitters. Rogerson struck out 6 batters in her 6 innings in the circle for the Bandits.
