Here are results from Thursday’s games in the Bladen County Recreation Department’s youth football leagues played at Bladen County Park.

7-9 Tackle League: Tigers 14, Wolfpack 6

Henry Simmons ran for a pair of touchdowns and both conversions as the Tigers won their first game of the season 14-6 over the Wolfpack.

Simmons broke free around the right side and raced 48 yards for the first Tiger touchdown then plowed into the end zone for the conversion and a 7-0 lead.

Quarterback Omar Powell fired a 32-yard touchdown pass to Landon Gause to pull the Wolfpack to within 7-6.

The score remained 7-6 until Simmons bolted 5 yards for another touchdown. Simmons banged through several tacklers for the conversion and a 14-6 lead.

Gaston Russ clinched the victory by intercepting a Wolfpack pass in the final minutes. Russ also returned the ball 75 yards for an apparent touchdown but an inadvertent whistle nullified the return.
