Bladen County Schools will be closed Friday for students and staff, according to the school system. There will not be remote learning, which had been implemented the past three days.

Bladen County Schools cited continued widespread hazardous road conditions throughout the area as the reason for deciding to close schools Friday.

Additionally, all school buildings and district departments will be closed and all activities and events scheduled for Friday and through the weekend have been cancelled.

Also, Bladen County offices will operate on a two-hour delay Friday, it was announced. The delay includes all solid waste convenience sites, which usually open at 7 a.m.

County officials encouraged extreme caution when traveling as ice and snow are still present on many roads and bridges.
