LAURINBURG — It’s been almost two years since Brandon McDonald was last seen or heard from.

Last Friday, members of the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office joined a multi-agency task force to search for the missing man from Clarkton.

Brandon Carl Wayne McDonald was last heard from on March 25, 2021 by his family, who reported him missing to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, according to a release posted on Facebook. Information gathered during the investigation leads authorities to believe McDonald was last seen in Scotland County.

According to reports, McDonald’s phone last pinged in Laurinburg, but his truck was found wrecked and abandoned in Hope Mills.

McDonald is in his mid-30s, weighs 189 pounds and is 5-feet-9-inches tall.

There is a $5,000 Governor’s Reward to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons believed to be involved in McDonald’s disappearance.

This investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960. Information will be kept confidential.

Other agencies that assisted with thick wooded areas in Laurinburg last Friday were the State Bureau of Investigation, Laurinburg Police Dept., Laurinburg Fire Dept., Scotland County Sheriff’s Office, Scotland County Search and Rescue, Hamlet Search and Rescue, Hamlet Fire Dept., NCK9 ERT and Cordova Fire Dept.
