Southeastern Carolina Crossroads Director David Chestnutt accepts a donation from Bladen We Care’s Mac Campbell at the Bladen Baptist Association office.

Bladen We Care recently made a donation to Southeastern Carolina Crossroads. Many young men in Bladen County and surrounding areas have been impacted by the opioid epidemic and have sought help from Southeastern Carolina Crossroads. The facility is located off of Susie Sandhill Road near Elizabethtown in the former location of Camp E-Tik-Etu.

Mac Campbell, with Bladen We Care, presented Southeastern Carolina Crossroads Director David Chestnutt with a contribution for the facility. “They do a tremendous job. They are so dedicated,” said Campbell of the staff at Southeastern Carolina Crossroads.

Campbell said the members of Bladen We Care were grateful for the opportunity to support the work being done at the facility. Southeastern Carolina Crossroads is a non-profit providing rehab services for men who suffer from addiction problems.

“We are lucky to have them,” said Campbell.

Campbell said last year, Bladen We Care was able to provide individual grants and donations totaling $50,000. He said the group hopes to be able to give even more this year.

Campbell said Bladen We Care also offers nursing scholarships at Bladen Community College and UNC-Pembroke. For more information regarding the scholarships, contact Linda Burney at 910-879-5519.
