Hurricane Florence hit the town of Bladenboro residents and downtown businesses hard. Flooding in the area caused several businesses to close down.

Five months after the storm one store will be celebrating their re-opening with a big event. Debbie Edwards with Boost the Boro, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to helping small businesses in Bladenboro grow and prosper, announced the Dollar Store will host a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on February 9, 2019.

Bladenboro Community Building Ribbon Cutting 2The Dollar General Manager, Yuvonne Christian is inviting vendors to set up booths in the side parking lot on the day of the event. Beauty Queens are also invited to attend to help celebrate the event. There will be vendors offering Girl Scout cookies, bows, ribbons, wreaths, italian ice and more on site the day of the event.
