A staff report
Bladenboro is gearing up for a festive holiday season with two exciting events planned for December. From a dazzling Christmas tree lighting ceremony to a lively parade, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!
Christmas Tree Lighting – December 6, 6:00 PM
On Friday night, December 6, the town will kick off the holiday celebrations with a magical Christmas tree lighting. Joyce Walters, the event organizer, announced that the ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM and will feature performances by local children singing holiday classics. Following the tree lighting, attendees can enjoy live Christmas music performed by Blackwater Rhythm and Blues.
To add to the festive atmosphere, there will be refreshments, food vendors, and fun games for all ages. Bring your family and friends to celebrate the season together!
Christmas Parade – December 7, 10:30 AM
The festivities continue the next morning with the annual Bladenboro Christmas Parade, organized by Amanda Sykes. The parade will start at 10:30 AM, with participants lining up on the road in front of New Light Church. Expect to see floats, performers, and holiday cheer as the parade marches through town.
For those interested in advertising during the parade, there is a $50.00 fee. Payments can be sent to:
