The Bladenboro Fire Department completed an ISO inspection process on Tuesday and now they are waiting to learn the outcome of their months of preparation and hard work.

“These guys worked really hard,” said Bladen County Emergency Management Director Bradley Kinlaw.

He said there is a lot of work and preparation that goes into preparing for the Insurance Services Organization inspection. The rating system ranges from a 10, meaning there is no fire service, to a 1, being the very best.

According to the Fire Service Info website, the ISO issues points for such things as distance between fire hydrants, training aids such as a training facility, number of training hours per firefighter, and communications, to name a few of the items reviewed.

Town Clerk Melanie Hester said the preparation for this ISO inspection was a joint effort between the fire department and the town’s Water Department.
